I thought I would start sharing a little of what I have planned for the art retreat coming up in a couple of weeks. I have about 6 confirmed participants, and want four more. So, if you think maybe you will or maybe you won't... let me share a few ideas for the weekend.
Does anyone remember this canvas? I made it when Ellie Sue was 6 months old. See that tiny handprint far left? It is a 6 month old handprint to be exact! I don't know if anyone remembers, because it's been FOUR years!!, but I did this canvas using petroleum jelly and acrylic paints. Below, see where I used a clear stamp to pull paint OFF the canvas.
And I used similar stamps to put paint ON the canvas as well.
Awwww... there's that tiny little hand!
Riley, you'd asked about some more advanced painting techniques. Well, I am in the midst of trying just about everything in this bucket. I have planned a canvas for my art campers this week so I can show another activity we will be doing at hte retreat. It is basically decoupage with foam stamps included on the canvas.
I am going to use some masking, like this, to make funky shapes on the background.
And some fun rubber stamps for swirly, curly flair!
SO, there we have it... a Vaseline canvas. If you are coming, be thinking about your subject matter for that canvas. Tomorrow, I can likely show you the funky shapes and bright colored one. Stay tuned. Come on... in the words of Nike... JUST DO IT!! I need to fill that class!
