Learning more about Mac!

Jessi came over and tried her best to help me better understand my Mac computer. Now understand. She doesn't have a Mac, but STILL... she is waaaaaay better at all of this than I am.
So, here it is. A blast from the past! I was trying to ensure that I did, indeed, have my old photos on an external hard drive. External hard drive... I feel important just saying that!

And yep. There they are. Pics of my teensy weensy babies from waaaaaay back when!
We have that fat little bald kid who now totally thinks she is 12 and channels Madonna as a fashion muse!
But loooook how precious she WAS! All that pink and cottony whiteness.
And this is back when she didn't have an opinion and I could slap her butt in smocking every day of the week if I so wanted. Awwww, and Gabbi has bows on the sides of her socks. I forgot all about that too!
And this is the precious little sweet. I kinda get sad when I look back at pictures of Gabbi as a baby. As you all know, because I very openly live my life right out here on this blog, I loved my Gabbi Girl and took the same time as I had with Ellie as a baby. I took photos, blogged, rocked, fed, loved.... etc.
But strangely, I have a hard time remembering her as a baby! I think it was just all such a blur! I don't remember how fast paced our life was/is with two so close in age until I see these pics.
And then it floods back to me. Thus another reason I keep a blog and about 55,000 pictures which totally clog up my harddrive and cause me all kinds of grief! But, when I couldn't actively wrap my mind around it at the time (and I think it has a lot to do with Ellie's activity level), I have these pictures to bring me back !
Remember that stinkin blue paci that I didn't think we'd EVER get rid of?
And Ellie's first OVER THE TOP birthday party. I mean, what one year old really needs a three tier cake?! (MINE!)
I found lots of pics of Todd and I and our friends too. We are aging. In fact, this is my birthday weekend (Monday, the 16th!), and my same crew is going out to dinner tonight. We have been there through each other's courtships, baby births, losses, triumphs and total sadnesses. We are each others' rocks. I am blessed.
And would you look at pretty Maddi? She looks like she should be on a baby food jar. Or maybe the baby in the frame you buy .
This was our trip to Colorado in 2008. Gabbi Girl was not even on our radar yet. We were cuckoo for Cocoa puffs over this little round bundle!
And then I found this one. The boys.... dang how they have grown! Hunter has his own truck now and Hayden is never home, so, well, I don't know what he does! They've outgrown their Aunt Mo. But I know this... they'll come back!
I enjoyed reuniting with my photos. However, this is an ALL POINTS BULLETIN....

I AM LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH EXPERTISE IN MAC COMPUTERS. DO YOU KNOW THAT PERSON? PLEASE TELL THEM TO CONTACT ME! mgroves11@comcast.net AND I MEAN CONTACT ME IF THEY LIVE NEAR AND CAN ACTUALLY COME FIX MY COMPUTER AND GET MY PHOTOS BACKED UP ONLINE AND CLEAR OUT ENOUGH SPACE TO LET ME UPLOAD MY PHOTOS FROM MY PHONE TO MY COMPUTER....ETC!

Thank you very much.
Mo

why don't you just consult a mac store? if they are anything like trying to figure out how an ipod or iphone works - good luck with that. you need to find a high school or college kid to help you!

love the looks back at the babies. it is so cool that you have those digital memories that you can pull up and compare over time. keep sharing your fun-filled life with us!

No words of wisdom...that's why I married a computer geek. Just wanted to wish you an early happy birthday. It's also my middle son's big day. We're celebrating the big 0-6! Transformers and LEGOs all around!

I must be extra emotional this morning, because looking at those baby pictures brought tears to my eyes.
Sorry Mel, I'm a PC gal, not Mac! Hope you find an excellent someone to help!

Have an awesome birthday celebration with all your peeps!

My hubby has lots and lots of Mac expertise. He works in the newspaper industry, and has for years. Macs are the only computers that particular news media uses. He knows 'em inside and out. Alas, we do not live nearby...so sorry. Hope you find someone who can help.

Such sweet pictures!!
I would look into the website carbonite to back your pics up. I have heard good things about them. Also, try calling your local Apple store and setting up an appointment. Good luck!! I know when I have children at some point I will have thousands of photos I will be neurotic about backing up too!!

Hey Melanie~ Richard, my graphic designer husband, said he would give it a try if you are interested...he would have to do it remotely since we don't live close, but he said he'd give it a whirl.
