After what I would describe as a hellish 24 hours of travel, we were seeing the light at the end of the proverbial tunnel!
The girls' level of anticipation were rising, as was that of the adults. We were in NEED of some snow, beauty, and relaxation.
However, as one very susceptible to car sickness, the winding roads and quick change in altitude had me sick in the belly, hurting in the head and struggling to catch my breath. uh oh.
It is gorgeous in Colorado, Diana! You are lucky to live here. My husband would move here in a New York minute!! He just marvels at the views. It was snowing into the headlights of the vehicle last night, and he said, " I wish we could just drive so I could look at this." I, on the other hand, sort of feel that way in a wooded area, like, oh, say, Oregon! Or the ocean... say like, on any coast.
When I see snow, or like this morning, think about getting my babies ready for ski school, I think of layers and layers and layers of clothes. And "this itches", and "these are too big", and "I hate these goggles".... etc. And... "I'm cold", "my hands are wet", and....
Todd, on the other hand, is typically cruising up and down on this gondola deal, and screaming down the mountain, like,...
Wheeeeeee!!!!!
So, maybe that's the difference?!
Either way... I am one to seize the day as best I can, so I will certainly try to put on my big girl panties and thermal underwear, and sweater, and goggles, and boots, and jacket and gloves, and.... enjoy the party!
I know one thing for sure... we picked the right spot!!
This place is the bomb. The lobby looks like one of those big mountain lodges like you see on the movies. And it has coffee and hot chocolate 24/7. There are big animal skin rugs and a fire a'blazin all the time. That's likely where you'll be finding ol' Mel.
ANd this is what a filter on Instagram can do. Pretty, huh? Postcard-esque.
Ski school today. Heavy snow is coming down. And we are about to head out into the "blizzard".

Love Breck! Very cool wood carving shop there on the Main road coming in. Kind of by itself. Enjoy!! I am sit by the fire and read then serve drinks at happy hour kind of girl. Put me on a beach any day!!
Places you must eat!!! The motherlode in Breckinridge- yum! And the butter horn bakery in frisco (breakfast or lunch only). My two favorite restaurants ever! Oh and the Arapaho cafe in dillon. I'm jealous! There is some good eating up there! Oh and the mint in silver throne is a cool steakhouse where you grill your own steak. Something Todd may like.

It's absolutely beautiful!! Way too cold for me. :( I can't deal with the cold, snow, layers and all that lol.

Melanie, Dramamine is my best friend. I absolutely have to take it when I know the roads are going to be like that. If I am driving, I am fine. A passenger? Give me my Dramamine!

I just got back from Breck 2 weeks ago! LOVED Eric's Downstairs. The pizza is amazing :)
Ate there last night! $20 for pizza. Double that on the arcade games!!
