Valentine's Day parties at the girls' schools

When I can,I try to make sure I make it to the girls' "special" days at school.
Ellie was pretty fired up that I was going to come and eat with her on the day of her Valentine's Day party.  Because that was also the week of our killer ice storm, the kids had to pretty much combine their Mardi Gras activities with the V Day fun.
This is one of Ellie Sue's favorite guys, Parker.   On this particular day, he came right up to me and said, "I got Ellie a special Valentine.  I'm going to give it to her at the party."  well, well, well...
Those are a couple of her favorite friends, Isabella and CharliLisa.
My friend, Breanna, (who will be my travelling partner this coming weekend!!), made these cute applique'd V Day shirts for my girls.
And this would be Anna Beth, Gabbi's most favorite friend!
These two crack me up.  They are JUST ALIKE!!  Two peas in a pod for sho!
Because we have a kindergartener and a first grader, I typically just hang in the cafeteria after I "eat" with the first one and wait until the second one arrives.

(I don't know what I'd do without Instagram and their fun filters to improve my pictures!!)
This is Gabbi's room having a little carpet time.

She was proud to have her mama there.

We finished up this party, and I made my way to the playground to find little girl number two.

All of the little kiddos had to make their bags for their Valentines.  Check out Ellie's "curly letter" font!  Cracks me up!

And it is quite obvious that she was quite intentional about her heart placement as well.
We walked past the 5th graders' Valentine boxes... my goodness!!

 Can you say detailed!!?
Ellie's class had sundaes.  They loved having a full-on bar to choose from!

They were piling on one of everything!  ANd then doing it a second time as well.
So, here is where it gets funny.  The kids, right about here, are getting all of their Valentines out of their bags.

Ellie is ready to get her special Valentine from Parker.  His mom had texted me the night before and warned me that he had bought it himself.  She told me that he told her that "You have to get a special girl something for Valentine's Day."  Now that's pretty special, if I do say so myself.
And here it is... this sweet necklace!
So, as the group continued to open their Valentines, Parker came over to me and asked, ...
"Did Ellie put 'Love, Ellie' on EVERY one of her Valentine's or just mine?"  I looked down at him and said, "I'm not really sure."  (I was sure.  I helped her get them all organized the night before.  She'd written that on every one.)  ANd I was taking a picture of him so that I could send it to his mama to let her know that that sweet boy was asking me that particular question.  Right about that very second...Ellie's second favorite boy, Harper, happened to open HIS Valentine from Ellie, and Parker looked down at it and sure enough, it said, "Love, Ellie"!  As I clicked the camera, I caught his poor little expression of heartbreak!
TRUST ME... I made SURE that we had him a very special Valentine on the next school day!  He needed to know we thought he was special!
And on the way out of the school, I saw this on the school's public board.  Way to go, Ellie Groves!
( Hope to get my retreat pics all loaded up very soon.  It was a great weekend!!  )

The height difference between a sweet Ellie and Parker brought to mind the height difference between her sweet Mama and sweet Dad! Straight A's! Woohoo for Ellie! Bothe girls look adorable!
