Girl mama. Curly hair.

I know I've mentioned before that I always wanted to be a girl mama.  I suppose it is because that is all I ever really knew.  My daddy was a girl daddy.  My mama only raised girls.  There were only girls in my house.  I don't know.  I just knew I always wanted girls.
And on nights like tonight, I start really re-thinking that!  Or maybe it's the kind of night that I'll look back on and make me KNOW why I wanted girls after all.

Both of the girls wanted me to curl their hair.
ANd by hair.... I mean LOTS and LOTS of hair!!
For Gabs to be only 5 years old, this baby has some H.A.I.R!!  It is below her waist.  I don't typically blowdry it at night, and for some reason, it had not quite dawned on me how long it actually was!!
So, I made her pose from the back and front, cause I think a little trim is in order!!
But you must admit, it is pretty!!  But that crap took FOR.EV.ER to blowdry!!

Ellie had decided earlier that she wanted me to curl her hair, so naturally, Gabs followed suit.  We took baths tonight, and washer hair, so I had to go through the full-on, all the way, routine.  Blowdrying these heads took me a WHILE!!

Ellie came into the bathroom and asked Gabs to pose for her so she could take a picture of her hair.  She wanted to send it to Mary Allison, cause MA is a big fan of long hair!!
We eventually got two heads totally wrapped up.  I warned Ellie that using these little bendy things cause some pretty TIGHT curls, but she was up to it!!  Gabbi'slong hair can take it, but ol' Ellie Sue's is going to be curled right up to her scalp tomorrow morning!!
But I can't say anything these days to my "teen" child.  And so, she'll learn this lesson tomorrow morning.
I thought this was a pretty good capture.  I sure do like it when they get along and cooperate.  Those are the moments I am going to look back on and smile.
And moments like tomorrow morning when they have ringlets up to their ears!!

Thank you for the post. It brings back memories of my long hair and my Daddy (who just turned 80) taking a towel and drying mine for me when I was little. I got it cut when I was in 7th grade. I will never forget walking in the house and him looking at me and saying "I will tell you right now, don't like it."

No girls for me, just one boy. Would not take anything for him but I sure would have liked to have had a daughter.

Hi Mo ~ I KNOW exactly what you mean about wanting girls. I am an only child who just lived with her Mother (my parents were separated) so I too knew NOTHING about boys and always hoped that I would have daughters (although I certainly would have loved my sons if I had any)
Ellie & Gabbi look so darn cute in their curlers and I do remember those days. Fun times for sure.
You have best friends for life as I always say my girls are my best buddies!!
Have a wonderful weekend,

They are so cute...I remember my mother rolling/curling my hair and my sisters, every Saturday night. We had to look good for church the next day! Back then, it was foam rollers and pin curls. Good times. ;-)
