Spin Art poolside

There's this other reason we absolutely love going to The Beach Club... they have awesome poolside activities for the kids every day!
So, while JinJin laid poolside, and I read this awesome book,...
And we watched the Blue Angels show off in the sky, ...
the little girls first got hair wraps.  And then tattooos, and then....

it was time for SPIN ART!!!  I thought this was the funnest activity!
They gave the kids  one design for free.
They just aimed the nozzle of the paint bottle into a hold on the grate over the card.  The box on the right was to pain on frisbees.  My girls just wanted to do the cards, thank goodness, cause the line was WAAAY longer on the right!
Let's put it this way, I liked the project so much that I called the office and gave them the go ahead to order one for us too!! I thought we HAD to have that at MMPT!!
And not only that, but I also convinced Gabbi to have a Spin Art birthday party in August.  Obsess much?!
It was a rarity, but this was one of those unique moments when the girls were posed up and facing AND smiling at the camera!!  WOW!

There were also painted ceramics, glitter tattoos, and painting sand dollars.

See that girl right there, helping Gabbi!?  Well, her name was Xavess.  And she fast became Ellie's favorite person.  In fact, as the week wore on, if someone wanted into the middle pool, which normally requires a photo ID to prove that the additional fee was paid to access the area),they'd get Ellie to escort them there, because she was known by all the workers there, and in particular Xavess.
Later in the week, she and Ellie got matching glitter heart tattoos on their ankles.  Yes, seriously!

One evening, when we were walking to the restaurant on the grounds, we passed a security guard who said, "Hey, Ellie Sue", as we passed.  I was like, HUH?!  He said, I met her the other day with Xavess.  Seems Ellie would sit at the counter with Xavess and basically made all kinds of friends.  She cracks me up.  Meets NO stranger!
I tried to career coach Xavess, and I think she might come and stay with us someday and shadow me in PT. She knows she wants to work with kids, and I don't think that many people who have that stipulation actually think about physical therapy.  It was one of my "must haves" too.  I had a very wise guidance counselor!

And now would ya look at THAT!?  I love it.

Gabs's turned out to look just like a really close up eyeball!!

And by the way, I'm home now.  And I have TONS of pics to share, so get ready.  That likely means multiple posts, so keep up.  And comment!!  It's a two way street, ya know!

Spin art looks FUN!
My little brother graduated high school this year and is going to school to become a PT. We couldn't be happier!

I remember years ago when I was a little kid wanting a spin art thing, of course what you could get then was pretty pathetic. I never got one though. Love Ellie's - looks like something a much older child would have made.

The spin art looks awesome! We had that at the hospital and kids loved it. MMPT patients will definitely enjoy it.

Spin art was always a favorite activity of mine when I was a kid. I BEGGED my parents for one of those machines, but my mom was afraid of the mess! LOL

(I'm back home, now, so maybe I can get back into commenting. Very tough week, but things are hopefully improving for my brother.)

I look here 50 times a day to see if you posted. and to be honest with you - almost every time you promise multiple posts you get busy doing something else and I have to go find you on fb to make sure everything is ok! so if you promised lots of pics and multiple posts you better deliver lol

that ellie sue is something else! I think if I were her mom I would spend half my time being terrified of her being so friendly and the other half laughing my rear off at her!!! frat guys and sorority sisters and any other grown up coming and going - that child has a gift!!! I can see her in a service career some day and I don't mean a waitress. she could be a social worker or child life specialist or a nurse or doc. it would have to be something that encourages her big personality and her talent for blending in with everybody in her surroundings. I am sure you would put people at ease and be mothering over them just a little lol

and by the way - the phy therapists and occ therapists are some of the happiest employees in our hospital!! that is how I have told my kids and my husband to look at a career choice - are you gonna be actually happy or will it just be a job.

I loved spin art when I was little! We did it with special paint and had shirts with the designs on it instead of tie-dye!
