Zinnias and my cottage... I love them both!

Let's take a little break from Easter and check out the new additions to my cottage.
Those additions are many new flowers.  And they are so beautiful, I might add.  I had many a helper to drive them down on the golfcart, but they kind of disappeared when it came time to plant.
I am sort of in love with these beauties.
SO, I got them in pink and red.
And because my Poppa used to plant zinnias in his yard every year, and because he loved me enough to plant a second crop in June one year just so I would have a bunch of beautiful zinnias in my wedding in September.
And guess what... this past week, my husband had a totally awesome deck added onto the back of my cottage.  It is just perfect. It has an awesome view, steps coming down both sides of the deck into my garden, and super bonus... a canopy formed by a huge oak tree right over the top of my deck.

Why is it that flowers look so much better in the flats at the nursery and even when you first put them in the ground, than when you go back to check on them a week later!?

I mean, seriously... these are gorgeous.  The red ones are about 4" across.
I did get my porch pots planted.  And I am pretty happy with how that is looking now.
And if you are my instagram buddy (melaniemomom), you saw this one.  I love the filters on instagram. Wish I had lots of time and all kinds of knowledge of Photoshop.
But I also wish I was skinny, rich, and organized!

your flowers don't look as pretty later because you bought flowers in full bloom. you have to deadhead them to keep them blooming over and over. you should have bought flowers that were about to bloom lol

I wish the same three things plus I wish I had a green thumb! Don't think I am going to plant anything outside this year - working hard to keep the indoor plants from my dad's funeral alive, so far they have made it 4 months - longest I have kept anything alive:)

Just looking at your cottage and flowers makes me happy, happy, happy!!! I love zinnias also. When we lived on Eagle Lake Drive, Bob had flowers blooming everywhere. Hot, dry Texas doesn't allow for the same kind of garden.
Just looking at the cottage and the flowers gives me a feeling of peace....enjoy every minute of it.

so where is the picture of the deck? Not that I don't believe you, but still! The flowers are beautiful. We are expecting a snow/rain event today so I forced to wait even longer for spring. Silly weather! Love the cottage. I think I could live in it! :)

Hugs from Missouri,
Shari

would love to see the deck. The cottage is beautiful. Love your flowers. Once you deadhead your flowers will look brand new again and keep giving you beauty over, and over and over. You did have quite a cart of helpers.......
Have a great day

Can you give us the dimensions of your cottage? It is so quaint and I finally convinced my hubby than I NEED one.
