Ellie playing kindergarten

I came into Gabs's room the other day, and this is what I saw.
I asked Ellie what she was doing, and she said, "I'm playing kindergarten".  And apparently, she had seats set out for Todd, KK, and Gabbi.
Each seat had a cup, a nameplate, a few straws, and a card which had sight words on them.  Also, each person got a snack and a tattoo.  I mean, DUH!
I asked her why I wasn't given a seat in her kindergarten, and I headed back into the kitchen.
When I got back, she had this project going on.
I have to admit, I LOVE it that she has paid enough attention to know how to make her own banner!
She cut her own little pennants and then made slits in the pennants, just big enough to slide a ribbon through.  I was so impressed!!
She wanted to make sure that I saw what was on it...

She was making up for leaving me out of the kindergarten seats.  I had my very own banner "Y.O.U."
I am loving all this kindergarten learning.  Tonight, I have Madi over, and they are hiding paint tubes behind their backs and spelling the color words to give hints as to what colors they are concealing.  Do y'all remember when you were just kind of stunned that your kid could , like, read and write?!  It is sort of shocking!  And Gabbi Girl is now able to write her first and ALMOST her last name without copying someone else's lead.  Yay Gabs!

I have been painting all evening.  Can't wait til tomorrow.  I'll try to share some of the products then!

That was such a loving thing to do for her mama.
I loved those early school days when they're just soaking it all in, and love to show what they've learned.
Can't wait to see more of what you and the girlies have been up to this week.

Fashion, projects, etc. I'd say Ellie is a girl who takes note of her mama. Too cute.
