Gabbi and her tree.

Where have I been, you might be asking?! Welllll.... We've had a little project going on around the Groves house!! It's called, Getting ready for Christmas.

I am very sorry to all you traditionalists!! Believe me, I understand!! I am actually a traditionalist too, but.... I have SO MUCH Christmas to get down from the attic and put up in my house, that I just have to get cracking a little earlier than I used to. I am sure my family will be wondering WHERE'S THANKSGIVING? when they come to have Thanksgiving dinner here next week.

They'll just have to deal!! I, with the help of Gabbi Girl, have completely gotten her room ready. As well as the kitchn, the dining room, Todd's Man Cave, the art room, the upstairs extra bedroom, the master, Ellie's room (except the tree), and the den (again, except the tree).

Oh, then there's also the cottage, the bunk room, and the front door. I'd say we have put in probably 80 man hours of work so far. I am NOT exaggerating!! But, we are almost there. Just a couple of trees and a few things here and there, and we get to sit back and enjoy the season. We have several parties planned, including Jin for her friends, Mary Allison for her friends, Ellie and Gabs for their classmates, me and my crew, and then, whoever else would like to enjoy this fully ready to roll house!!

It's my philosophy that as much work as goes into making this sucker look good, then it better dang well be enjoyed.

It's been really fun seeing Miss Gabbi Lou having fun helping me this year. I think her tree just suits her to a tee!! It is sweet and feminine! Precious, just like my baby girl!

Lots more pictures forthcoming!! But, just thought I'd better tell you where I've been. I don't think I've skipped two days of blogging EVER!!

I'm alive!! Just been very busy and dog tired!! But, it's about to get GOOOOOD!!!

I was beginning to wonder! We've got the same thing going on in our house, too! You are further along than I am, though. I DO wait until after Thanksgiving to put up the 'big' tree in the great room, but otherwise we're in full swing. Love everything about the Christmas season! Please post lots of pictures of your decorations - you are one of the best inspirations in blogland!

Good to hear from you busy-lady!

Gabbi's expression is very much focused on making that tree beautiful - indeed you two have accomplished that! Can't wait to see the rest of the decorated BAH.

Have a great week!

Can't tell you how much I loved this post. The pictures of Gabbi & her tree are precious. While I hate when people put up Christmas so early I completely understand your need to start early. I love seeing how your house is decorated for the holidays and love all your decorations. You've got to go big and with so many people relying on you to get the party on who could blame you. Can't wait to see more pictures and thanks for the inspiration to get my house decked out.
