Paintings

Yipppeeee... Look what's ready to hit the road! Amy K, you have been so patient. And I appreciate it! This is Amy's "word". She got a canvas last year with her "word" of 2010, so she needed to add to her collection.

She had lots of reasons to choose the word, Restore, so I tried to include them around the painting for her. Above, you'll see "perspective" and "health". Below, there's "Family time" and "Relationships".

And then, "Confidence", "Strength", and "Faith".

Amy, I hope you have RESTOREd many things in your life this year.

THen, for Amye. She wanted to send a painting with her best friend when she moves away for dental school.

She told me a few "funnies" that she wanted included in her painting.

These were private jokes between them that should evoke good memories when Ariel looks at it in her new digs.

Hope she likes it, Amye.

And for Mancy...

Mancy needed something for a baby girl whose bedding/ room is black and cream toile. It has touches of pink as well.

Alayna Grace is an adopted little girl and was a miracle. Her parents had a failed adoption, and they clung to the word, "Believe", so she asked me to have that on the painting as well.

See the toile scrapbook paper on the edges? I painted over it so it wouldn't be too harsh.

It's been a while since I painted, but it was pretty fun! Maybe I'll get my paintbrushes wet again soon!

Good morning! Glad you survived the roadtrip! We have done that a number of times...with four kids...sometimes it goes well...sometimes not as well. I think it is just all a part of the experience. I wouldn't change it though. We have made some great memories on those road trips.

Keep making those memories, and have an AWESOME day!

I have loved all of your canvas posts ever since the very first ones (back when you were doing a bunch at Christmas time years ago!) And since that time I've been thinking of different ones that I might like to order. I may have finally found a reason! My very best friend is pregnant with her first child (and the first of this group of friends - let the new phase of friendship begin!) and if it is a girl she wants to do a nursery in Pink, Orange, and Turquoise!! Not ready yet, but it is something I'm keeping on the back burner! (Along with all the lovely things I need to start making for her.
Much love,
Maggie in Boston!

Love the new canvases. Wish I could come to visit you and pay you to give me a lesson, but I live in Idaho - too far away! Have a great day. God bless!

I love your canvas work! My daughter has one of the Believe crosses you did hanging on her bedroom wall. You've inspired me to be a bit more "crafty" and I even did a scrapbook for my daughter's senior year. Thanks for sharing.

You don't have to beg me to comment. If i read what you take the time to write...I TAKE the time to acknowledge your sharing.

I love your paintings...thinking of buying a Christmas one this year!

Have a fun trip! How is the weather. Here in St Louis it's tornado warning after tornado warnings...wet and cool. Hopefully Sunday and Monday will be great though!

Love seeing you painting again. You do such awesome work and love seeing all your creations. Still such an inspiration to all of us that have a inner artist screaming to get out even with a busy schedule!

I would like to order one of your paintings so I will be thinking of what I want. I have two grandchildren, a girl 7 and a boy 4 months. Probably something with their names on it for my home office. Absolutely love your work!

I am from Douglasville, GA and a friend of mine just moved to W. Monroe. Jason Thomas owns the IHBBQ and I believe you are having a fundraiser there soon for Jake. Jason is a great guy and his food is fabulous! He will remember me as Sherry from Ralph's store. Ralph was my dad and owned a convenience store here for over 40 yrs. Glad to see you guys connected.

I've been following your blog since I followed Jake's Caringbridge site.
