Horses on the condo grounds. How cool?!

DUDE!! 17 comments!! Way to go peeps. And Tracey, check back two posts. Zhohn did the honors for the short story on Gabbi Girl's coming to be. Basically, we got ANOTHER call when Ellie was 8 months old, and Todd nearly fainted. I told him that, too, was a miracle, and we had to do this! So, I have girls 13 months apart. Her birth mom was a mother to a kid I had worked with through a state program (had treated her 18 month old son at the time). Gabbi was her 5th child. She was 22, and well, definitely needed help! Back when Jake was really, really sick, she'd told me she thought she was pregnant, and she intended to get an abortion. I talked to her about adoption and how many people would love to have a baby, and ....
She actually ended up not being pregnant. Fast forward a few months, and I get a call! We were deep in the thrill of having a baby ourselves, and Todd initially could not see it. But the birth mom said she'd remembered our conversation and just wanted to know if I "wanted this baby". Uhhhh, YES! And so. Now, when I look at my sweet Gabbi Girl, I can't help but think of the alternatives. That birth mom also ended up losing all the other four children to the foster system. She told me she knew that if they found out she was pregnant, they'd just take that baby too.

Strangely, since I have been on this trip, she has texted me to discuss her current pregnancy. She has decided to try and go through with this pregnancy and keep this baby. She seems to feel she is more on track now to parent. Time will tell. And I will try and support her as I can. She's now 24. Bless her heart.

Ok, so back to the Beach Club. I guess by now you've figured out we had pony rides at the Beach Club festivities.

I'm really kinda shocked to see the Queen of Sheba up there.

Not shocked AT ALL to see this one!

In fact, KK said getting her OFF the horse and back home was a huge debacle.

Kinda makes me wish I still had the horses/ ponies at my office. Gabbi would've wanted to come and visit every day! Wait! She wants to do that anyway! Both of my girls LOVE being at work with me. My office really IS a pretty fun place!

As you can see... there are four high rise condos at the Beahc Club. In the middle there is the Beach Club. It has a spa, an upscale restaurant/bar, a workout room (I hear), an indoor pool, an outdoor tiki bar, and an outside, poolside grill. And that's just what can be seen in this picture. You know...

I think I may do a whole tour of the Beach Club for a blog post. I'd better get busy with all these promised blogs!

Look at Gabbi's face. She is pretty serious about her pony rides!

And after it's all said and done... my sitters knew enough to take this picture to reassure me that they even got in their nap! Well done, KK and CoCo. Well done!

Kathryn and Melanie, thanks for the video info. I am gonna try it! I have taken some FUN videos! My Gabbi Girl is CLLLLOOOOSSSE to swimming! Some of you may have seen the video on Staci's new FB page. She is rockin that page! She's less computer literate than I am. And that's sad! So, go friend her if you haven't already. Just tell her you are a MoJoy follower! And tricia, it's TIME! Get an FB page!

If you looked up the word "fun" in the dictionary, you'd find your picture! I just love how you make the most of every moment. I know that everybody has their own "stuff" that they deal with (you included, I'm sure) but we all can choose what to focus on and put our energy into. Thanks for being such a great model for this concept. It's been a challenging year so far in our household, but every day when I read your blog it reminds me that no matter what kind of crud is coming our way I can still choose to celebrate the blessings that God has given me in my life. So, THANK YOU!!!!! Oh, and I am LOVING the vacation pics - I never knew such a wonderful place existed right here in our own U.S. of A.! We might have to investigate it some day.

I needed to hear the story again! Haha. I remember you saying a while back the girl contacted you about being pregnant. I pray for the best in that situation, whether it be for the baby to stay with her or be with someone else.
Gabbi sure does love animals!!! I'm enjoying all of the posts, I almost can't keep up!
Happy Memorial Day, may our soldiers and their families be blessed, especially the families of those who lost their lives for us!

You made me laugh.Listen Mo...I just got texting so facebook isn't on my radar,LOL I'm still old fashioned and prefer the reach out and touch someone LIVE(actual verbal conversation). I think this world has become far too impersonal in their relationships.I guess you can say neve say never(Staci just got facebook) but for now I don't see it.

Loving your vacation pics!

So much fun! We used to vacation in GS quite ffrequently - always stayed at The Phoenix. Now that the grands are in the picture looks like the Beach Club needs to be the do to locale.
Saw a post recently on another blog I read who had a western theme bd party for her little girl recently. It would be perfect for Gabbi's next big day. I will email you a link to look at the ideas.

What a fun day for the girls. You do have wonderful sitters. My favorite picture is the girls sleeping. There is nothing sweeter than suntanned babies sleeping after a long fun day

A tour would be wonderful! I told John that we need to get us one of those condos. He is actually intrigued! I made a point of pushing the golf.
