Up in the Cobbage.

That is what Ellie says... "Mom. I need to go 'up in the cobbage'." And usually this is followed by "I be back in juuusssst a minute." I swear that kid copies everything she hears! (Lately Sue Groves is "driving me crazy!"
Oops!
On this particular day, I wanted to spend some time in my cottage boxing things up, or at very least, trying to get some things organized. Moving is going to be a GRAND undertaking!! Just making baby steps!
And this is my "special helper".
And this is my special iPhone that plays my special inspiring music! Today's choice, kids songs by adult-ish performers. We were listening to Lisa Loeb singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". So cool.
THIS is why we must spend many upcoming days in the "cobbage"!
As well as this. It looks like the bead monster came in here and puked everywhere.
I have already boxed up about 3 huge boxes of these....
and there are even more where those came from! I love books. Don't read a lick really. But LOVE to get inspiring books with lots of pictures.... home design, garden design, mosaics, bead ideas, etc. Those, to me, are the kind of books that you can look at over and over and over. It is like a new surprise every time I go and pull one off of the shelves.
Here, Miss Ellie Sue is looking for every single bead that she could find on the floor. And that, my dear friends, is a BIG job!
Our Earl was standing guard outside.
Ellie would find earrings and try to figure out how to get them to hang on her ears.
I seem to be a collector of all things metal. I always think I can find something to do with things. I really in truly think I can . Todd says I am just a packrat. Whatever!
My precious Ellie Bellie can appreciate my "tings".
She really likes "tings" too!
My little girl could sit out there and pilfer with my beads and fun stuff for as long as I could! And that is a LONG time! Trust me.
We both kind of get transformed with all the shiny tings!
I love watching Ellie become a little artist with an inquisitve and curious mind. And as much as I say I would love it if she could learn to play "alone". I DO LOVE that she likes to hang with mama so much! We are good buds!!

Aren't you going to miss your cobbage when you move? It is so cute and full of fun stuff and fun memories. I'm guessing it's gonna be a tough one for you. I wish I had a cobbage to spend time doing crafty artsy stuff with my little lady. You so truly b!lessed

Wouldn't it be easier to just take that cobbage with you when you move? Then, you wouldn't have to pack a ting! ;-)

I'm with Carrie and Beth! I just love your "cobbage". What are you going to do in lieu of it in your new house? Curious, how big is your current house with the "cobbage", in comparison to the BAH where you will be moving.

We moved into our BAH, or McMansion 10 years ago, and though there is more square footage and bigger rooms here, I do miss my little sunny guestroom that I had in my much smaller former home. That's where I would store my new purchase, wrap gifts, read. It was a tiny, pretty room that was all gussied up girly like with a white eyelet comforter. Sigh.

Precious Post!! I am "crafty" too and I have two daughters, my oldest isn't crafty (but loves art) my middle one is just like me, she scrapbooks and sews and makes things all the time and is very crafty. It's a bond we have. Looks like you and Ellie have that bond already too! It's a beautiful thing when you can share what you love with your daughter!

Hey Mo ~ I just had to comment on Ellie's expression with her mouth open trying to put on those earrings.....I make that face too when I'm putting my earrings on & my mascara..........too funny!!
You really have girly girls - like my three. They were always Mommy's girls (even to this day) and I could not be happier!!! I keep hoping I can see you & your gang if you come to Colorado this winter, please let me know. Love your posts, Diana
