Ellie Sue at Two.

Hey, Ellie. Want to know what's been going on with you lately? welllll, if you will notice in the photo above, you have your nails painted (black, but anyway), You are LOVIN to have your "tinganails" painted.

And although THIS is the original "Sue Groves"....
crazy eyed, wild haired Sue Groves....
you call ALL your babies, Sue Groves. Except one. This one. This is Piper!
And you see that giant case of diapers in the rear? Well, those are necessary because you throw a complete and total fit when you are asked to sit on a potty. If I ask you, "Don't you want to wear princess (or Dora, or Cinderella, or... you get the picture) panties?", you immediately say, "no." You have ZERO interest in potty training.
However, you have a real ZEST for dressing yourself, and recently, your babies.
Today, you came out of your room and presented yourself in this little get up! Thigh highs and a necklace. Daddy, get that number for the convent!
You are so dang headstrong. You are determined to do everything, "by myself". Your daddy and I laugh as we incorporate many of your words into our daily speech. One we say often is, "I got it. I can do it."
I mean, who would have DREAMED you could use an electric screwdriver to change the batteries on a toy? You really do amaze us!
Your vocabulary and speech is unlike any I have EVER heard in a two year old! Very smart, kiddo!
And although we hope you make strides in your fashion sense, we couldn't be more proud of you. You are a COOL kid!

She is a cool kid! I love her little personality!!! And she is so dang cute, too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hadlee didn't have much interest in potty training for a long while either. I didn't stress...it will happen. I've got a post to publish someday about potty training a princess!

Hope this week is treating you MUCH, MUCH better than last week!

She is such a cutie. Love the rockin' black polish. Mine won't stay still long enough for it to dry. She wants her nails painted, but doesn't wait for them to dry. LOL

Melanie - God and Jake picked out the perfect little girl for you in Ellie Sue. You are non stop and going constantly and she is just like you.

Don't stress about the potty training...that will come in time. When she's ready she will go to the potty. She's just too busy right now.

She is such a sweet girl. Thanks for sharing her with all of us.

Not sure what all you have tried for potty training but we used the Dr. Phil trick and it worked like a charm. It basically focused on our son "teaching" his bear by example. Maybe Ellie can "teach" Sue Groves.

She will do it on her own nothing to stress over but had to share what worked for us.

Ellie girl you are just too cute my dear. MO, she will not go to college in diapers darling, I promise. Heck my Lucy who will be 5 in January still wears one at night. She just will not stay dry thru the night. I thought she would never potty train and literally in 24 hours it happened. It was when she was ready and came and told me so. She too, did the "NO NO NO" on every princess, bribe we could think of...BTW your fashion sense Ellie Belly is just too doggone cute...Just sayin

Don't despair about pottying training. It will come. My son was 3 years and 3 months before he was potty trained. Day care wanted us to force him to do it. I didn't really think pushing it was the right way to go with him (he's stubborn too). After a few tries of using the potty, putting underware on and having him wet 10 minutes later. I gave it up. Just after his 3rd birthday he started telling us he had to poop. About 6 weeks later after talking about wearing big boy underware, He wanted to give it a try. Day Care had me bring about 5 change of clothes. After 2 accidents the first morning, he stayed dry all the time. A couple of months later he was dry 24/7.

It will come.

That Ellie!! She get's cuter and funnier w/each post!

I have another 2yr old here in TX who would make a good playmate for Ellie! She is also headstrong, very verbal and stubborn as a mule sometimes! The other day I mistakingly knocked her bowl of cereal off her highchair and she furrows her brows and look straight at me and in her most serious voice, says "Now you KNOW better, why you do that mommy!!!"
She loves her dolls and her dog, Paris, can be very snarky when it comes to HER STUFF!

The best one this week had to be when hubby brought her home from school! She proudly comes running thru the door and says MOMMY...GUESS WHAT??? I GO IN "TIME OUT" TODAY!! LOL!! Gotta work on that!!!

The upside, she potty-trained fairly easy, she hated the wetness or dirty bottom feeling!! I mean HATED IT!! She's also adamant about her completing her homework, and DOES NOT WANT HELP coloring, or applying the "stickers" that correspond w/the letter of the week ! She knows her ABC's, can count to 15, and knows her months/days of the week! Knows every song on the radio ! I guess you can see I'm also one proud momma! I gotta work more on STAYING outta TIME OUT!

PS Sending you "something" thru the mail! Watch for it! Thx again!

OOPS... I forgot to include a word on potty training. My eldest daughter who just turned 30, has a very similar character as Ellie. She was so stubborn about being toilet trained, but she woke up one morning and decided then and there that she was going to be like the "big people", and I swear that within a week she had it down pat. I'd bet a week's wages on you having a similar experience.
More hugs,
Denise

Both your babies are "COOL KIDS"...that is because they have you as their momma!!

You make my heart smile each and every time I read your blog and see how much LOVE you share with others!

The very first Pediatrican I had for my first child gave me some very wise advice (I didn't think so at the time, but it turned out to be very true). "Wait until your child is 3 to even THINK about potty training and it will happen in about 1 week. If you try and push them before 3, you'll have them trained at 4". This has turned out to be TRUE!! I talked about it and had her sit on the potty all the time with my first daughter all the time when she was 2, BACKFIRED...she was trained at 3-3/4 but still had accidents in bed until 4. The other 2 kids, I waited until they were 3 to even discuss it. They both trained in 2 days with NO problems and NO accidents. Just wanted to pass that along to you. Good luck!
