Mary Allison's senior prom

Well, Senior prom has come and gone.  And we survived the dress hunt.  The earring design.  The perfect hair do.  A rainstorm and bottom of white dress turning black from dragging.  And... well, everyone got home safe and sound.
I designed these earrings just for my baby girl.
Prom day came and so did the rain.  It was clear enough before the big event to at least take photos outside.
All these girls are so sweet.  And I feel like, through Mary Allison, I have watched them grow up from about the 6th grade, all through junior high and through four years of high school, hanging with my sweet baby sitter, from the age of 12, and growing into beautiful young women.
This is my friend, Cindy, who so graciously offered her home for a bunch of seniors.  She really outdid herself to make the atmosphere so quaint and special.
This is Mary Allison's date, Chris.  They dated for the past year, but currently are not dating.  But they do make a beautiful prom couple.
I so wish her mama were here to see how gorgeous she looked on this special night. I pray that God gives her a glimpse of her daughters succeeding and willing themselves to go on with dignity and self esteem and great love for all those around them.
And I am just privileged to be a small part of her world.
Check out the paparazzi in the front row.  I was on a wall behind them. There were mamas and cameras everywhere.
Mary Allison posed for this picture just so I could send it to her "stepdad", Todd, for the shock factor. And of course, he DID text back his disapproval!  ha.

And so, this was our big crew.
Lots and lotsof preparation and money went into this production!
These are the little wanna bes who will be there having their own prom before we know it.  Emma Lou is there in the front in the black and white polka dot dress.
I think 4-5 of these girls will be going to LSU in the fall.  That's over 3 hours away!  :(
At least she'll be close to her sister, Elaina, who is now living in New Orleans.
And I think it's awesome that her sister drove the 5 hours north just to see here sister headed to prom.  Elaina has done a great job assuming the role of "mama" to make sure to keep the important things important! They have a special bond.  And I am very glad that they have each other.
I'm proud of this little girl.  And the Groves are happy to be her second family.

Easter Egg Hunt at Kindergarten

My blog has been jacked up all week long.  It's not been smooth sailing to upload pics or comments!!  Maybe that is how God is making me actually take the time off that he is trying to get me to take!  But, tonight, I got it all working....
So, let me tell you bout the Easter egg hunt at Ellie's school.  Not all that sneaky places to hide the eggs. Just laid those puppies out in the middle of the auditorium all over the floor.
And they quartered off the area with a big bunch of crepe paper streamers.
Our room mom did a great job  of making our quarter really cute.
And then, we let em loose!

Since I am a working mom, Ellie gets pretty fired up when I get to go to the school to attend a function.  As it is, I don't think I've actually missed a single "function" this entire school year!

 This is Dawson.  He's also a neighborhood kid.  And in ELlie's class;
And Jansen.  Jansen and Ellie have been friends since they were about 2 years old.
And Isabella.  This is whose mom gets my kid to dancing every week.  Bless their sweet hearts!!
Gabbi Girl wasn't about to be left out!  I brought her eggs with her name on them just like I did for Ellie!
Anderson kind of started out a "favorite boy" at the beginning of the year.  I haven't heard a lot in that department lately.  And I am knocking on wood now!
Avery is a good friend too.  She goes to our church and is new to our neighborhood.
This is Kenner.  His mom and I are buds.  They also live in our neighborhood.
 And then there's Naveah.
And... oh... I can't remember.  But she is one of my favorites!!  Her mom works and can't usually make it, so I always try to take extra time with her.
 Here's a girl corner!
Each mom was responsible for filling her own kid's eggs.
Mine got everything from candy to customized stickers with an awesome monogram to a ballerina necklace.

 And here is Miss Shelby.
The snacks were handled by our awesome room mom, Sarah.
And here's our sweet teacher, Mrs. Gaskin.  We got this cute tee for her at the same place we got our rabbit tees!  Check out emtannerdesigns.com and tell her Mo sent ya
Oh... and I made her a cute pair of earrings too!  We snuck them into an egg that got mixed into the rest of the eggs and hidden in the floor of the auditorium.
 She was quite surprised.
And here are a couple of surprises... my girls... on video!

I can't wait to see them when the Easter bunny comes to the house this weekend.
It's so fun having little ones!  Happy Easter everyone!

Makeup cleanout day

Have I mentioned that I am home and OFF WORK this week for spring break!?  Well, I am.
And I am taking the time out to do all kinds of things that have been needing done around this place.  Like, this make up drawer!  YES.  This DID all come out of ONE drawer!   I mean, how many fingernail files does one need?!  I think I had, like, 6 and the same with tweezers.
Don't even start to talk about lipstick.  And do we see a theme on color going here?!
Eyeshadow.  DUDE!  And the ironic thing is that I only wear one of two palettes every day.  Neutral or neutral.  Every blue moon, I'll get all cray cray with a purple or something, but basically, I only need about 5-6 of these!! Actually, I think these are the keepers.  The others were put down below the sink.  And many, many, many were taken to the office for giveaway!
Blush.  That's another thing.  I only wear one color. every day. period. So, I just got rid of the rest.
So, as you can see, I had to do something.  It had gone crazy.
I instagrammed this pic for anyone who might be following me on instagram.
And although he is going to kill me.  (actually, this serves him right because I don't think he reads my blog anymore!)  Todd saw where I'd cleaned out my brush and decided to make a little hair art!!
He was actually imitating Keif from my office, who has quite the brow line!!  ha
I think we're all set on bobby pins!
But I don't know WHAT we'll do if we have to trim fingernails or toenails.  OH wait!  We can use one pair per toe!
So, I am pretty sure that I kept about 1/2 of these.
Is someone in this conversation a little afraid of lip color?!
So, this is what I carted to the office to give away.  Next up... fragrances, lotions, bath stuff!

Have a happy Thursday.  I know I will.  We have the annual Easter egg hunt at MMPT today!  Everyone is invited.  4:00
